The December Board Meeting has returned to its normal date (second Monday of the month), December 8 at 6:00 pm. It will be held at the Gaston Fire Station and is open to the public.
The has been lifted for residents within the Gaston Rural Fire District.
1. You can only burn yard debris from your property. You cannot burn trash, lumber, or other materials. Burning is regulated by the DEQ and is allowed day to day based on air quality considerations from DEQ air tests.
2. You must attend your burn at all times, have a garden hose and shovel ready in case it gets out of hand, and put it out when you are done.
3. Just because you live in the rural area doesn't mean you qualify for agricultural burning. Ag burning is only for the removal of legally burnable debris from a for profit farming operation. Even agricultural burns are prohibited from burning tires, plastics, dead livestock, and dimensional lumber.
