Burn Ban in Effect

Effective today all backyard and agricultural burning in the Gaston Fire District is banned.

Warming & cooking fires will be considered on a case by case and day to day basis.

Requirements are:

  • No fires larger than 3' x 3'
  • Must be attended at all times
  • Must have water on site and readily available
  • Fires must be out by midnight.

Citizens must call daily to check that this type of burning is still allowed for that particular day. An initial inspection is required by GRFD personnel prior to allowing these types of outdoor fires. Board of Directors meeting days are changing.

The Gaston Rural Fire District is moving its Board of Directors Meetings from the first Monday of the month to the second Monday effective July 1st. As such, our July Board Meeting will be held on the 14th of this month starting at 6:00 pm at the fire station, 102 E. Main St. These meetings are open to the public.

Gaston Fire Receives Two Pet Oxygen Masks

This afternoon we received a gracious donation of 2 sets of pet oxygen masks from the Tualatin Kennel Club.

These masks are donated as part of the WAG'N O2 FUR LIFE PROGRAM which helps first responders acquire necessary equipment to effectively mitigate emergencies and save pets lives.
